October 5 - 12, 2024 -- Shades of Blue on the Beach

"Our Memories of the Ocean will Linger On, Long After Our Footprints in the Sand Are Gone"

      Highlights of 2024

      Attendees

This year we had 22 overall participants.  Not all staying the week but we enjoyed seeing and interacting with all of you.  The age range was from 3 mos (Rayne Leigh Vogel) to 83 (Paul Acri).  Greatest distance traveled was from LA to Cape San Blas (Lawrence and Barbara Hayley).

      Our Adventures

All experienced many new adventures from hiking, to golf carting, to fishing, to shelling, to boating +++ .  We also thankfully experienced the passing of Hurricane Milton.  Passed to the South of the Cape.  We had one day of AM rain and winds up to 25MPH but no major damage.  Thank you all for just enjoying the time and getting to know each other better in a relaxing location -- Cape San Blas, FL.

      Group Effort

All contributed in so many ways to make this week in October special.  Just want to say a few special thanks to the following:

      • Cara and Jenna -- Thank you so much for setting up and hosting Family Fued between Sol Mate and All Smiles.  Sol Mate takes home the win this year -- basically based on the absence of Chris and Krista Acri.  That will teach you!!!!!
      • Cara and Cami -- Thank you for setting up Beach Bingo and handling the Jackpot Raffle.  Congrats to all winners of Bingo and special congrats to the winner of the Jackpot. Cami made $5 in tips...thanks to all for tipping the Raffle Girl.
      • Thank you to Zepha Acri and Barbara Hayley for setting up the picnic in St Joe Park prior to our pontoon outing. It was delicious!!
      • Thank you to Barbara and Lawrence for picking up the tab for us all Friday night at Long Bills...much appreciated and certainly a surprise.
      • Thank you to John and Tonya Hoppa for renting the golf carts for the week.  We really enjoyed using these.  RJ and Cami both got to drive and did a good job.
      • Thanks to Robbie, Caleb, and RJ for setting up and taking down the canopies and chairs every day and for building nice beach fires.  So much fun.
      • Thank you to all the cooks and assistance cooks throughout the week...we had some great suppers from kabobs on the grill to baked zitti to the picnic in the Park.
      • Thank you all for conforming to the Shades of Blue on the Beach and your patience throughout my directing of  photos.  We should have these back shortly.
      • A special thank you to Caleb Ramsey for the opening prayer October 5th Supper.  Caleb is the very best with giving blessings.  We appreciate you Caleb.
      • Barbara -- Thank you and Lawrence for the goody bags you made up for the little ones.  Nice surprise.  We saw many of the nice stickers on drinking bottles.

Hoping we have not missed thanks to anyone.  We appreciate your participation to make it a stress and drama free time of the year for us all and something to look forward to again.
